Kino Zhao obtained a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of California, Irvine. Her research focus is in the philosophy of social science and the philosophy of statistics. She is now an assistant professor at Simon Fraser University, Department of Philosophy.
Outside of research, Kino enjoys community building in the form of collating and sharing information, experience, and resources. She co-founded Wonder Philosophy, a workshop helping prospective PhD applicants get a better sense of what grad school in philosophy looks like. She has co-hosted several panel events discussing various aspects of academic life with Women Overseas, a forum and community of Chinese-speaking women who live outside China.
